How to Volunteer

Volunteering on a Committee
Now is the time to get involved in this upcoming project. We are making plans, contacting potential Sponsors, gearing up for Marketing and Public Relations, and developing our volunteer base. There are many on-going opportunities, including:

  • Co-Chair a portion of the project
  • Volunteer to assist as a Committee Member
  • Assist in Marketing and Public Relations
  • Assist as a Building Volunteer
  • Provide Support to those On-Site

Volunteering at a Work Site
Once we have a site, it will be a very busy time. Community volunteers are needed every Saturday, and ocassional Sundays of each month. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. For scheduling purposes, each participating organization will be assigned a specific date. However, we welcome volunteers whether or not you are affiliated with one of these organizations. *Also, all volunteers must watch the Safety Video before working onsite.

Work hours
Saturdays from 9:00 - 4:00 and Sundays from 10:00 - 2:00 . Please come on time as the volunteer assignments are made at the start of the shift. *If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will be reassigned to another work day. Also, you will be asked to sign a consent form. Some opportunities may occur during the week, except Mondays.

What to wear and bring
Be sure to wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather. During the winter, the house may be open with no heat. If you have any of the following available, please bring: a hammer, measuring tape, a pencil, work gloves and safety glasses. Also, bring water and lunch. There will be a lunch break during each work day. Try to car pool to the site as parking is very limited.
